During his design process, he adopts a hands-on approach to the materials he works with. His work is shaped by repurposing existing techniques, such as in the way he designs a mould. Through constant research and experimentation with various techniques, he questions how everyday objects are approached by transforming them. At the beginning of his design process, he deliberately leaves the outcome of the design open. By embracing the qualities of the material during the process, it becomes clear in what shape and context the work will evolve.
His ambition lies in seeking a raw refinement. Within this, he considers how an object can be perceived as finished or unfinished—both from his own perspective and that of the beholder. In the final outcome of a design, he finds it important that a human touch remains visible. This imbues the object with character and makes it feel more personal.

Cornice collection
Cornice is an ongoing collection of containers that are made by experimenting with the traditional technique of running cornice. The traditional method of running cornice has been used for centuries to embellish interiors and exteriors with plaster ornaments. The translation of it often has an old-fashioned stigma. In creating the new pieces, the historical background and technique use makes an interesting contrast with the contemporary character of the objects. By this, the technique gains new values so that it is no longer lost in obsolescence. By making a hollow mould and replacing the traditional plaster for an alpha crystalline gypsum the ornaments can be used as everyday objects.
